Recognize that line? It's from a children's book by Roald Dahl that no one made a movie out of..."Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator". I figured for my first entry in the blog that I would use a line from the sequel to the classic "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
I've never seen the Johnny Depp version (and I won't), because the Gene Wilder 1971 film is almost beyond reproach. I don't want anything to ruin the experience of the wonderfully quirky, has-early-70s-written-all-over-it original. It's a simpler movie, from a seemingly simpler time.
